Texas deposit deadline.
30
days to return your deposit (after you surrender the premises; landlord need not act until you give a forwarding address in writing).
What they must send
Written description and itemized list of deductions; no deductions for normal wear and tear.
If they get it wrong
Bad faith: $100 plus 3x the amount wrongfully withheld plus attorney fees; bad-faith failure to itemize forfeits the right to withhold.
In Texas, you need to give your landlord a forwarding address in writing. A landlord who doesn't return the deposit or itemize within 30 days is presumed to have acted in bad faith.
